LapTrace is designed to keep your data private.
App data
Location and motion data from your iPhone and Apple Watch, imported video, telemetry, and exports remain on your device until you explicitly save or share them. LapTrace does not require an account, and I do not operate a backend that receives or stores this data. LapTrace does not automatically upload it. A separate first-party feedback service receives only a support report you explicitly approve, as described below.
Optional public track lookup
If you allow public kart-track lookup, LapTrace asks OpenStreetMap’s Overpass service for track data in a coarse region. The service receives the connection IP and coarse-region request. LapTrace does not send your recorded route, telemetry, media, or session identity. Downloaded track data is stored locally and can be deleted in Settings.
Saving and sharing
If you choose to save or share an export, it is handled by the destination app, service, or your iCloud / device setup.
Optional feedback
Send Feedback shows the exact serialized report before anything is sent. By default, the report contains a random per-report ID, the app name, the feedback category, and your typed message. A reply email is included only when you type one, and app version, build, OS version, and locale are included only when you enable the separate context option.
The report never automatically includes analytics, logs, stable user or device identifiers, recordings, sessions, lap history, location or track coordinates, sensor or Apple Watch values, photos, videos, performance metrics, screenshots, clipboard content, credentials, or local diagnostics. The isolated first-party service retains accepted reports for no more than 30 days.
Optional local diagnostics
Local diagnostics are off by default. If you enable them, LapTrace keeps at most 120 sanitized coarse app-flow entries on this device for up to 14 days. They exclude raw sensor values, coordinates, session or event identifiers, exact file paths or names, media, imported or exported payloads, credentials, and framework message bodies. You can inspect, explicitly share, or clear them; they are never uploaded automatically or silently attached to feedback.
Support email
If you contact support, I receive your email address and any information you include in your message. I use that information only to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue you reported.
Third parties
LapTrace does not include analytics or tracking.
