Local information
China Family: The Guide helps foreign families in Shanghai form a small current shortlist, compare like-for-like information, and prepare questions to verify directly. It does not guarantee provider identity, quality, safety, licensing, eligibility, availability, service area, language access, or current terms.

China Family: The Guide does not require an account and does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, contacts, or location permission. It never uploads family information.
Data on your device
The app stores only broad family-need choices, saved published-profile identifiers, local filters and appearance, one validated derived snapshot plus a rollback copy, and a bounded local entitlement cache. An optional categorical fit request—age band, language, district, service area, and intake constraint—is used only to reorder an on-device verification queue. It is not a child profile and is never uploaded.
Derived content snapshots
To show current Shanghai family guidance, the app may download a bounded, signed, derived snapshot. It contains only compact published profiles with fit, eligibility, language, service area, recency, source class, cautions, unknowns, and verification questions needed by the app.
Raw posts, comments, handles, source URLs, screenshots, media, cookies, credentials, private identifiers, and prompt or response bodies never enter the app, repository, VPS, or customer-facing snapshot. Permissioned operator research remains separate from customer data and is never joined to app use.
Map search and outside services
A map search happens only when you choose it and sends a published label plus Shanghai to the selected map service. Confirm identity, current location or service area, language, eligibility, availability, and terms directly. Maps, providers, browsers, and other services have their own privacy practices.
Deletion
In Access & settings, Delete all local data removes saved identifiers, fit questions, cached access, and downloaded snapshots. Nothing is uploaded by this action.
Purchases
If the app later offers an optional purchase, Apple would process it through StoreKit under Apple’s terms. The developer would not receive your payment-card details.
