When reporting an issue

• Include the app version, iPhone model, and iOS version.
• Describe the city, concert, import, or notification involved.
• For a source correction, include the public source URL and the fact that appears incorrect.

Tickets and source pages

China Concerts does not sell tickets. It opens an external organizer or ticket page so you can review the current terms and complete any purchase there.

Export and delete

In the app, open You → Your data to create an encrypted profile export through the system Files interface or delete your local profile, private iCloud copy, and encrypted fallback backup. China Concerts has no app account.

CloudKit wake availability

If CloudKit wake shows unavailable, confirm the app's notification permission and iCloud availability. Foreground the app to perform the same public refresh. Background App Refresh remains an independent fallback. A ready wake status is not a delivery-time promise; the local diagnostics export distinguishes receipt, delta refresh, eligibility, scheduling, presentation, and failure categories without exporting profile values or device tokens.

China Concerts has no app account, does not use advertising or tracking, and never uses one person’s private behavior to recommend concerts to another person.

On-device profile

You can browse, choose cities, save concerts, and receive local recommendations without creating an account. Your follows, cities, concert actions, imports, notification rules, and recommendation profile are stored in protected storage on your device. Public catalogue and change-feed requests do not include those private choices.

Private iCloud sync

When private iCloud is available, the app uses your iCloud account’s private CloudKit database by default for sync and recovery. The profile is stored in encrypted CloudKit fields. The China Concerts developer does not receive your Apple Account identifier, email address, or readable profile contents.

Encrypted fallback when iCloud is unavailable

If iCloud has no account, is restricted, or has a durable permission or quota failure, the app can back up one padded encrypted profile blob to the China Concerts service. Encryption happens on your device and only your recovery code can decrypt the contents. The service can see limited operational metadata such as request timing, network address, blob size, and an opaque locator, but it cannot read the profile. You can disable this fallback, which deletes the blob and leaves your profile device-only until iCloud becomes available or you turn the fallback on again.

Recommendations and Apple Music

Recommendations are calculated on your device from your own cities, follows, and concert actions. If you grant Apple Music access, artist names from your music library are read temporarily and matched to the public China Concerts artist catalogue on your device. Raw library names are not uploaded; only the catalogue artists you confirm become follows in your private profile.

Imports and screenshots

Text, links, and screenshot text are processed on your device so you can correct the result before confirming it. Raw screenshots and raw OCR text are not uploaded. Confirmed import details remain in your private profile.

Notifications

China Concerts uses one public CloudKit record as a non-personal update marker. After you choose to enable concert alerts, Apple may silently wake the main app when that marker advances. The marker contains only a generation, public change cursor, signed public-release identifier and hash, and publication time. It does not contain artists, events, cities, follows, Apple Music data, preferences, notification rules, profile data, alert content, or device tokens.

The app then requests the same public, user-agnostic change feed used by foreground and Background App Refresh. Matching, conflict suppression, quiet hours, daily limits, deduplication, scheduling, and visible alert content are decided only on your device. The developer server never receives the APNs device token. No iCloud account means CloudKit cannot provide this wake, but local data, foreground refresh, Background App Refresh, and already scheduled alerts remain. Apple does not guarantee immediate background delivery, especially after force quit or under Focus, Scheduled Summary, Low Power Mode, network, or system limits.

Optional local diagnostics

Local diagnostics are off by default. If you enable them, China Concerts keeps at most 120 sanitized app-flow entries on this iPhone for up to 14 days. The file can include bounded lifecycle categories, fixed operational messages, numeric error domain and code pairs, memory warnings, and privacy-reduced MetricKit counts.

It never includes profile or event identifiers, follows, cities, URLs, paths, imports, notification contents, recovery material, source content, or raw MetricKit call stacks. You can inspect, explicitly share, or clear the file. China Concerts never uploads it automatically, and Delete all data clears it and turns recording off.

Concert facts and provenance

Event facts are stored with public source URLs, evidence excerpts, observation times, and confidence. Automated extraction can flag a possible change, but it cannot invent facts, approve a conflict, or trigger a notification by itself.

Retention, security, and deletion

Local profile files use iOS data protection and network traffic uses HTTPS. The accountless fallback expires after 24 months without a successful update. A verified return to usable iCloud deletes the fallback blob. In-app deletion removes local, private CloudKit, and fallback copies; if an off-device deletion cannot be verified, the app reports that it is incomplete rather than claiming success. Encrypted Files exports remain wherever you choose to save or share them.
