When reporting an issue

Please include, if possible:

• the app version and build shown in Settings;
• your iPhone or iPad model and iOS or iPadOS version;
• the selected market, catalog status, catalog revision, and last-updated time shown in the app; and
• the screen, action, expected result, and what happened instead.

Please do not include allergies, personal skin details, credentials, private screenshots, or other sensitive information.

Catalog and offline recovery

During a refresh or network failure, the app preserves a valid last-known-good catalog and labels cached, stale, and offline information. A stale price or stock observation is not presented as current. If no valid cache exists, the app shows an explicit error and retry option instead of synthetic products.

Availability is based on the market you select, not location permission. Product merges can redirect saved identifiers to a canonical record; unresolved saved products remain visible rather than being silently replaced.

Resetting local data

Use Settings → Reset personal data to remove the Decision profile, market choice, comparison selection, owned-product status, and routine from this device. Deleting the app removes its local container, including the public catalog cache.

Privacy Policy

Skin Product Finder keeps personal product-decision inputs on your device by default. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, tracking, analytics SDKs, or remote AI.

Data stored on your device

The app may store:

• optional skin type, sensitivity history, direct preferences, budget, formula exclusions, and personal triggers;
• the market you confirm and products selected for comparison;
• morning and evening routine entries;
• unresolved or redirected saved product identifiers; and
• a durable last-known-good cache of public catalog records, its revision, refresh timestamps, and local recovery markers.

The public catalog cache does not contain your complete profile or routine. Personal state is not synced to an account or cloud service by the app.

Catalog network requests

The app contacts the Skin Product Finder catalog API for public product, formula, source, market, price, availability, redirect, and revision information. A request contains only the explicit catalog parameters needed for that action, such as market, search text, a product or variant identifier, category, pagination cursor, or cache validator.

Ordinary catalog requests do not upload your complete profile, routine, allergies, personal trigger list, comparison list, or observations. Country availability is selected directly; precise location permission is not required.

Transport metadata and operational logs

Like other internet services, the catalog host and network providers may process transport metadata such as IP address and request time to deliver, secure, and rate-limit the service. The API application does not persist request logs. Its request metrics are aggregate and bounded in memory, unmatched paths are not recorded, and application request events do not include queries, bodies, IP addresses, or user-agent values.

No external application request-log sink is enabled. If one is introduced, it must have a documented retention limit of no more than 14 days and proven deletion. Infrastructure providers may separately process limited transport metadata under their own operational terms.

Data collection and sharing

The app does not sell personal data, use advertising or cross-app tracking, create an analytics profile, upload the local profile or routine, or send profile data to remote AI. It does not access the camera, microphone, contacts, HealthKit, or precise location.

The current app is free and contains no ads, paid placement, or affiliate links. If you follow an ordinary retailer or source link, the destination site processes the request under its own privacy policy and terms.

Retention and deletion

Local personal state remains on your device until you use Reset personal data or delete the app. The app may separately refresh or clear the non-personal public catalog cache during cache recovery.

Server-side catalog records, source assertions, revisions, and audit records describe public-content operations, not user profiles. They are retained for provenance, correction, and rollback.

Optional in-app feedback

Settings → Send Feedback shows the exact report before anything is sent. The default report contains a random per-report ID, the app name, the feedback category, and the message you type. A reply email is included only when you type one; app version, build, OS version, and locale are included only when you enable the separate context option.

The app never attaches analytics, telemetry, automatic logs, a stable user or device identifier, Decision profile, allergies, skin concerns, routine, photos, product or search history, catalog identifiers, screenshots, clipboard content, credentials, or other files. The isolated first-party feedback service has no catalog database access and retains accepted reports for no more than 30 days.

If you contact support, I receive your email address and anything you include. I use it only to respond and troubleshoot the issue you reported.

Product and health boundary

Skin Product Finder provides informational product-comparison and routine-organization guidance for adults 18 and older. It does not diagnose a condition, prescribe treatment, or guarantee that a formula is safe or effective for an individual. The app is not offered in Apple’s Kids Category.

Policy changes and contact

This policy will be reviewed before any account, profile sync, analytics, advertising, tracking, user upload, remote AI, or new sensitive-data behavior ships.

These terms govern use of the Skin Product Finder app.

Informational service

Skin Product Finder helps adults inspect sourced skincare product information, compare formula and offer attributes, and organize a routine. It is informational only and does not provide medical diagnosis, prescription, treatment, or a guarantee of individual safety or effectiveness.

Seek qualified professional care for a severe, persistent, or worsening symptom and for decisions involving a diagnosed condition, prescription, pregnancy, or known allergy.

Catalog data

Product, formula, source, price, stock, and market information can be incomplete, delayed, stale, conflicting, or unavailable. A missing source or retailer observation is not proof that a product or property is absent. Prices are timestamped observations, may have conditions, and are not guaranteed purchase quotations.

Manufacturer claims are kept distinct from independent evidence. Ingredient- or class-level evidence does not prove an outcome for an exact product or person. Records may be omitted or quarantined when identity, provenance, market applicability, freshness, or rights are uncertain.

Ranking and comparison

The app does not use a universal health, safety, clean, toxic, quality, or overall score. Results apply explicit eligibility, uncertainty, user-selected needs, market availability, and comparable value dimensions. Keeping a current product or buying nothing may be the appropriate result.

Product information and ranking explanations are decision support, not a substitute for patch testing, label directions, retailer terms, or professional advice.

Open Beauty Facts attribution and license

Some catalog facts are adapted from Open Beauty Facts contributors. Those database-derived facts are used under the Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL), with individual database contents covered by the Database Contents License 1.0. Applicable attribution and share-alike obligations continue to apply to adaptations and substantial extracts.

The upstream Open Beauty Facts source data and its publisher licensing guidance provide further details. Skin Product Finder preserves source attribution and provenance for covered catalog assertions.

Third-party sources, retailers, and trademarks

Product and company names, marks, factual product information, and retailer links may belong to their respective owners. Availability, prices, promotions, shipping, taxes, membership conditions, subscriptions, and retailer terms are controlled by the third party. Inclusion does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or a guarantee that an offer is available to you.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app or catalog service, interfere with service operation, attempt unauthorized curation or publication, violate applicable law, or infringe third-party rights.

Availability and changes

The app, API, catalog coverage, ranking policy, supported markets, and individual records may change. Features or records may be corrected, redirected, deprecated, or discontinued while audit history is retained.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app and catalog are provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. Information may be incomplete or unsuitable for a particular person, market, time, or use.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app, catalog, third-party retailer information, or reliance on stale or incomplete data.
