Rainy Days

Know when the next rain starts and stops.

Support

For support, bug reports, or feature requests, email result_change412@slmail.me.

In the app, Settings → Send Feedback opens a report you can review before an explicit send. Your message is required; a reply email and app version, build, iOS version, and locale are optional. This support path is separate from forecasts, location, purchases, and Rain Watch.

When reporting an issue

Please include, if possible:

Forecast availability

Rainy Days gives one focused answer about when rain starts and stops. If a current forecast cannot be retrieved, it keeps a last-known answer only with its original update time and a stale label, or shows unavailable. It never turns a service failure into “No rain.”

QWeather is the live provider for supported mainland-China forecasts. Outside mainland China, Rainy Days uses Apple Weather as a basic worldwide fallback only where Apple reports that weather data are available. A missing or incomplete forecast remains partial, stale, or unavailable rather than becoming a dry answer.

Optional Rain Watch

Rain Watch is an optional monthly or annual auto-renewing service for monitoring one enabled mainland-China place while the app is closed. Monitoring requires a server-verified current entitlement and a separate notification opt-in. Free on-demand forecasts remain available without Rain Watch.

After a current entitlement and explicit notification opt-in, Rain Watch uses Apple Push Notification service to deliver the selected alert cadence for the one monitored coarse cell. Apple and system delivery conditions apply, so the app does not promise an exact delivery time.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-01

Rainy Days has no account, advertising, trackers, or background location.

Location

Location is optional and is requested only after you choose Use Current Location. You can choose a place manually instead. The app retains a human-readable place and coarse forecast location, not an exact-coordinate history. For mainland-China forecasts, it sends a coarse forecast cell to the first-party Rainy Days service over HTTPS. Outside mainland China, it sends only the coarse location needed for an availability-gated request to Apple Weather.

Data on your device

Saved places, the last-known forecast and its update time, weather observations you choose to record, alert preferences, widget data, diagnostics preference, and bounded last-verified Rain Watch display state may be stored on your device. An accountless random installation identity is stored in the iOS Keychain for authenticated data changes.

First-party service data and retention

The accountless Rainy Days service stores coarse forecast and alert cells, immutable weather- provider observations, derived forecast decisions, and bounded operational state needed for truthful forecasts, replay, evaluation, security, and reliability. Provider observations and decisions are shared coarse-cell service records rather than a personal location history. They are retained under applicable provider rights and service retention policy. Alert delivery and suppression audit records are removed after 90 days.

Provider credentials remain on the server and are not stored in the app. Rainy Days does not create an account or advertising profile from this service data.

Optional weather observations

If you tap Raining here or Dry here, Rainy Days stores and sends that cell-level observation and its time to the first-party service for forecast evaluation. It is linked to the random installation identity, not an account or profile.

Rain Watch and StoreKit

If Rain Watch is enabled after entitlement verification and notification opt-in, the service may store one coarse mainland-China alert cell, monitoring preferences, notification registration data, bounded delivery state, and the derived StoreKit facts needed to confirm access. Disabling monitoring, loss of access, invalidation, inactivity, or Erase All retires the related delivery state as applicable.

A locally verified StoreKit signed transaction is sent once over HTTPS for independent server verification. Neither the app nor the Rainy Days service retains the signed payload body. The service retains only derived entitlement facts and their installation association while needed for access, billing-status, revocation, audit, and deletion handling. Apple keeps purchase history under its own policies.

Optional in-app support feedback

The app includes a Send Feedback flow that shows the exact report before an explicit send. A report contains your message, an optional reply email, and—only if you opt in—app version, build, iOS version, and locale. It does not automatically include an installation identity, location, forecast or provider data, logs, screenshots, clipboard content, or telemetry. Sent reports are stored by the isolated first-party support service for no more than 30 days and are not linked to the installation identity.

Deletion

Erase All removes saved places, cached forecasts, local weather observations, widget data, diagnostics preference, monitoring settings, cached entitlement display state, and the installation identity from your device. It also requests authenticated deletion of server records linked to that installation, including weather observations, monitoring and notification registration, derived entitlement association, and delivery audit. If the service is unreachable, server deletion is safely queued and the app does not claim that it is complete until the service confirms it.

Shared coarse-cell provider observations and forecast decisions are not installation records and remain under the provider and service retention policies above. Already-sent support reports are also separate from the installation identity and expire automatically within 30 days. Erasing Rainy Days does not remove purchase history held by Apple.

Support email

If you contact support, I receive your email address and any information you include in your message. I use that information only to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue you reported.

Third parties

Rainy Days does not include analytics SDKs or advertising trackers. QWeather processes mainland-China forecast requests, Apple processes availability-gated Apple Weather, StoreKit, and notification delivery under their respective policies.
